ABOUT ME
Shw mae/Hello
Welcome to Llinos Mai’s website. Llinos is pronounced ‘Llee-noss’ and Mai is pronounced ‘My’, in case you were wondering. Llinos has endured many different pronunciations of her name in her time, including Linus, Lunos, Multi-surface Cleanose, and her personal favourite, Linda. She’s written a song about it, which you can watch here: (Click the captions button for English subtitles.)

Llinos is an award-winning comedy writer and performer who works in both English and Welsh. She’s written for theatre, television, radio, and podcasts and has also written a fair few comedy songs in her time. Her work is often autobiographical, often contains songs and is always warm-hearted.

Llinos writes and presents the history podcast for kids, ‘Hanes Mawr Cymru’, for BBC Sounds. Each episode focuses on an element of Wales’ incredible history. She uses elements of stand-up, sketch and songs to bring the history alive. ‘Hanes Mawr Cymru’ won both Bronze and Gold at the British Podcast Awards last year. Here is one of the songs from the Celts episode translated into English.

Her comedy shows ‘The Harri-Parris’ follow the lives of a dysfunctional farming family from West Wales. These shows are very much based on her dysfunctional farming family from West Wales. Two theatre shows (‘The Leaving Do’ and ‘The Big Day’) toured extensively, and ‘The Harri-Parris Radio Show’ ran on BBC Radio Wales and BBC 4 Extra.

Llinos has written for multiple children’s TV shows, most recently for the comedy drama ‘Anni Bendod’ for S4C. She is often recognised by 3 – 7 year-olds and their parents, as she can be seen on our screens playing Jen in S4C’s children’s show ‘Jen a Jim’.
She is currently writing a new comedy for Theatr Cymru, a children’s book based on her podcast, and a new series of her podcast ‘Hanes Mawr Cymru’ for BBC Sounds.
